Should I tell him how I feel or let it go?
by megsmomma inbrief history: my mom shuns me, my step dad is not a jw but thinks pretty much like one and called me apostate when i tried to tell him some things.
my step dad and i have never been close, he was verbally abusive to me growing up.. well, last week he and my mom fly up my ex- and his wife with my daughter (all jw's) to go boating with them and my sisters kids.
i am glad my daughter got to see her cousins....but, i am sure if they talked about me at all it was not positive talk.

a good, little, Dubby wife who goes where her "head" asks her to go
Thank goodness I got out before I became one of those.

You Must Push, Push, Push To Accomplish More, More, More

in the congregation.
it always seemed as if your best was never good enough and more could .

As a JW I felt guilty for relaxing or having fun. I didn't study my lesson for tonight, I should be getting caught up on my magazines, I should read the YearBook instead of this "worldly" book, I should be working on a better FS presentation, why am I watching TV when I could be "studying"...and on and on.

My 20 year old JW brother is dating a 30 year old sister - should I worry?
by nicolaou ini just found out yesterday.
i remember the girl from my 'past life' when she was still at school - she's nice, but i hear that she's been in a couple of relationships that didn't work out.
thing is, the dub version of a 'courtship' that doesn't work out is when it doesn't end in marriage!

is there such a shortage in the organization of attractive, intelligent and articulate young men like my bro' that even a 30 year old would consider him marriage material?
Yes. If a girl is not married by the time she's 21, its slim pickin's. Oh, its sad what these "older" women will try to go after. I knew this short young guy who married a considerably older woman who was also taller than him. It was weird because it seemed like he was dating his mom. He was a total dork! He dyed his hair primary colors and drove a loud stupid car. And she acted like a mom.

What JW Things or Beliefs Never Really Interested You?
by minimus ini never cared about chronology.
i was never interested in stupid convoluted explanations about dates or how a scripture in revelation applied to the anointed.
it was always bs to me.

I don't think I was interested in any of it. Maybe the beasts.
And following along in your Watchtower while a speaker gives a TALK is stupid!
Ditto that! People thinks it makes them look more "spiritual" when they do that.

30 Minute Public Talk-CONFIRMED
by stillajwexelder ini can confirm (as there seems to be some doubt) at the service meeting last night during the item about the new watchtower, a letter was read by the po.
the public talk is to be 30 minutes long.
this is to allow for more association and ministry.. lengthy negative introductions about the state of the system of things/deep last days etc are to be heavily curtailed.

Well without that, they should just go on and reduce it to a five minute talk. How many times can you read Rev. 21:4 and Prov. 21:11 in one talk?
Yeah, more time for the ministry , good one.

HA HA! I Love it! I think the wild beast part goes like this. The CW is the wild beast and the great harlot is rosie o'donnel. In her hand is a cup full of Pop Rocks. In his due time Jehovah will pour his wrath out in the form of Coke, causing an explosion with the Pop Rocks.
Mmmmmm.....sugary harlot

Appealing a JC Decision
by Amber Rose ini had my jc about a month ago now and thanks to my dad i keep thinking "shoul i have appealed?
" has anyone ever heard of a decision being reversed because of an appeal?
do very many people appeal?
-
Amber Rose
Thanks for your responses everyone.
Sassy said :but it really means nothing.. you don't win the appeal either.. it just more energy and emotion for nothing.. That is pretty much what I told my dad. I guess I just wanted to make sure that I didn't just make that up. It's just these dumb games that they play to make it look like they are fair and reasonable. Sometimes I fall for it.
OnTheWayOut Said: Also, your dad is acting like these guys are not guided by Holy spirit by his comments. Exactly! He even said that he thinks one of the elders on the JC has it out for Drew. He knows that it was three dumb guys that made the decision and he doesn't think there is anything special about them at all. Its so frustrating talking to him because he has no idea how their system operates but he thinks he knows more that I do. He's gotten himself into a comfy position and he won't budge from it. He's an unbaptized publisher, goes to 3 out of 5 meetings and service once a month (he refuses to work territory, just other people's calls). That's enough to keep my mom quiet and easy enough for him and nobody bugs him about it. So he thinks why can't I just do that too.
